At the invitation of Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front (Zanu PF), Mr. Jiang Yikang, alternate member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Deputy Secretary of the Chongqing Municipal Committee of the CPC, as CPC representative, attended the 4th National Congress of Zanu PF, which took place from 1st to 5th December 2004.

Mr. Jiang delivered a congratulatory message from the Central Committee of the CPC and passed another congratulatory message from H. E. Hu Jintao, Secretary-general of the CPC and President of China to H.E. R. G. Mugabe, the President and First Secretary re-elected of Zanu PF. During his stay, Jiang also hold sideline talks with Mr. E. Mnangagwa, Secretary for Administration of Zanu PF and Speaker of Parliament of Zimbabwe and, Mr. E. D. Mutasa, Secretary for External Relations and Minister for anti-corruption and Monopoly in the office of President and Cabinet, exchanging ideas on further strengthening the traditional friendly relations and win-win beneficial cooperation between the two Parties and two countries.
