Ambassador Yang Youming attends Ansa Mcal Group's Luncheon

H.E. Mr. Yang Youming, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, attended Ansa Mcal Group's luncheon party on Feb. 24, 2010. The Luncheon Party was hosted by Chairman of Ansa Mcal Group Mr. A. Norman. Sabga. Former Chairman of the Group Mr. Anthony N. Sabga, members of the board and officials from the Economic and Commercial Counsellor's Office of the Chinese Embassy were present. Chairman Sabga told Ambassador Yang that Ansa Mcal Group has evolved to be one of the largest companies in Trinidad and Tobago. The business of the Group covers finance, insurance, real estate, manufacturing and service. He said that Ansa Mcal Group attaches a great importance to trade with China, that its founder started trade with China 60 years ago, and hopes to further strengthen its cooperation with China, particularly in the fields of mechanical and electrical products, machinery and auto mobiles. He emphasized that Ansa Mcal had irreplaceable advantages in terms of a well-established brand and distribution network in the Caribbean region. Ambassador Yang thanked Mr. Sabga for his introdution which helped him to know more about the Ansa Mcal Group. Ambassador Yang said that in recent years, the Chinese Government step up its implementation of the "go global" strategy and encourages Chinese companies and banks to invest abroad. There are now already a number of Chinese companies doing business in Trinidad and Tobago and Caribbean region. The Chinese Embassy and himself are willing to encourage and facilitate cooperation between Chinese companies and Ansa Mcal Group in areas of motor vehicles, mechanical and electrical products and media, to achieve mutual benefit and common development.
